Resources on Racism and Racial Identity

In this post I'm sharing a number of books for teens to help you explore issues of racism and racial identity. Following the book list is information on the Talking About Race web portal launched by the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. I hope these resources will help you increase your understanding about racism and help you discuss the issues with your family, friends, and people in your community.

Most of these books can be found as digital resources through owwl.overdrive.com or by using the Libby app. The last three books on the list (marked with *) are not available through the library as digital resources, but are available in print at the Victor Farmington Library. They can be requested on or after June 29th, when the library begins curbside pickup services. I've included links to all of these books and you can click through for more information about the book.
